This is one book that every women should read. The content is easy to read and hard to put down. The author recommends reading each chapter and digesting the information then trying out her exercises before moving onto the next chapter.

I know it's easy to think that after reading one scenario that we are familiar with we don't need to try out the recommendations, but I think it's worthwhile doing them. Anyone who is uncertain about where their future is going should read this book.

We live in a world where bullying is second nature to a lot of people and the guidance given in this book is mind-blowing. Even if you feel that you are already a confident person this book is a worthwhile read because confident people don't always realise that sometimes they are in fact over-confident and this can be a really negative quality in a person. Happy reading.

Self-Esteem: The Repair Kit

By Janine Latus

I started with books. First I tried the intellectual ones that delved into the female psyche and our traditional/historical role in society. They didn't help. I was already much too cerebral and could understand the heck out of this problem without doing diddly for my self-esteem.

Then there were the perky self-help books that told me all I had to do was open my mind to the beauty inside. That message was all well and good—except I knew what was inside, and it was inadequate. I was sure I had to be perfect to be loved.

The books kept me in my head, but my problem was deep in my gut, and hard to reach. I had done therapy, talk talk talking about this inner chasm, yet there it stayed, needy, gaping. Then I met Kim Forbes, a psychotherapist in Virginia Beach.

The 5 Minute Exercise That Can Change Your Life

By

“Who will you have to become, to achieve all you want?” – Tony Robbins

Learn how to get Motivation and Inspiration HERE

Have you ever stopped to think about it? Do you have a clear vision of who you really want to be in this world?
I wasn’t sure either. I mean, I knew I wanted to be a good person and do big things,  but that was about it…
Then I was extremely fortunate to come across Brian Johnson’s Optimal Living 101 course (best class I ever took). During the class, we did a lot of amazing exercises, but perhaps the most powerful was the “Eulogy Exercise”.
In the 5 minutes it took me to do the exercise, I went from having a vague idea of who I wanted to become, to a clear picture of my “best self”. And an action plan on how I could start becoming more like it.

This exercise can be very powerful, so I sincerely hope you take 5 minutes time to do it. It could change your life.

Manage Your Time or Others Will Do It for You

by Harvey Mackay

I’ll never forget an important time management lesson I learned in a seminar many years ago… especially how the instructor illustrated the point.

“Okay, time for a quiz,” he said, as he pulled out a one-gallon wide-mouthed mason jar and set it on the desk in front of him. Then he produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar.

When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, “Is the jar full?”

Everyone in the seminar said, “Yes.”

Then he said, “Really?”

The Kim Kardashian Effect - Why Being Overly Confident Pays Off

We all know one in the office. She waltzes in to the staff meeting, seemingly unperturbed about arriving several minutes late.  With her stately gait and regal posture, you’d think she was the Queen of Sheba. And yet again – by the end of the meeting, she has the CEO mesmerized – even though you’d end up doing just as hard work and she’ll garner all the praise and that prized promotion.
How does she do it?

According to psychologists at the University of Berkley in California, those who are overly confident and masters at self-promotion tend to trump those who simply get by on hard work alone. This means they are often promoted over those who may be more competent than themselves, as their bosses mistake their confidence for real talent.

But here’s the caveat. Whilst being overly confident can get you ahead, you do need to back it up. Case in point: the current star of reality television, Kim Kardashian who has amassed a multi-million dollar fortune simply by having no shame in her game. While she may be gifted in the art of self-promotion, her success is further solidified by hard graft.
