Here's 4 tips on how to get confidence to help you feel a greater sense of self belief.
1. Be prepared to push through the fear of failure
If
you currently lack self confidence, then you'll have had
disappointments in the past. These failures created your low self
belief. You have to be willing to take a chance that this might happen
again because building self confidence is a risky game.
2. Go out and do what you lack confidence in
The
key in how to get confidence is to experience genuine success at
things. This happens because the mind suddenly realises "Hey, I'm
actually good at this!" Like I said though, whilst you're hoping for
success, you have to be willing to fail. Taking risks is a massive part
of building self confidence.
3. Accept the ups and downs of your confidence level
As
people, we are not perfect. Our confidence levels are constantly
fluctuating; although some more than others. Your level of confidence
depends on how long ago you last succeeded. We don't succeed all the
time in life, so if you haven't experienced some genuine awesome success
for a while, embrace this.
It's part of human life not to succeed
all the time. Because you don't get success constantly, you won't feel
on top of the world in every waking moment. Accept that although you
can improve your confidence level in general, it will always be
changing depending on your circumstances.
Once you can
embrace that your confidence won't always be sky high, you can say to
yourself "These ups and downs are all part of the long term process of
how to get confidence. I should feel confident even at low points,
because I know that these small lapses are bound to happen, since I'm
only human."
4. Visualise your successes!
It
has been psychologically proven that your subconscious mind cannot
differentiate between real, actual success, and just imagined success.
The effects of real success are better, since it is actually real. But
this doesn't mean you can't imagine your success first to get an extra
confidence boost!
Hi David, also, remember a time when you did succeed at something, no matter how small that success was. Remember that feeling you felt. It felt good, didnt it! That's what you aim for again. Also, take inspiration from the fact that the greatest leaders, business people and sports people will openly tell you, that you learn from your failures. Failure is not to be feared - failure can provide you with some of the best lessons you will ever learn. Good luck everyone! www.livelifegrand.com
